My professional experiences have been entirely centered on "home" ... from home improvement, to home décor. My personal experiences, however, have given me the drive to win and be successful.

I grew up in Huntington Beach where my father and brother used their artistic mastery to enhance homes through metal work. In fact, they owned a company together before my father hung up his tools and headed into retirement. My brother continues to fabricate custom copper kitchen accessories, metal rails, bar surfaces and gutters. So, I have seen firsthand the hard work that goes into home details and have grown to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of each individual home.

My twin sister is in the appliance industry. She has been a sales representative for high-end appliances for the better part of her career. While my expertise is in real estate, I have certainly benefitted from her knowledge. It helps having a go-to in the field when my clients are upgrading a kitchen in preparation to sell or to serve as a resource when homebuyers need advice.

Beyond what I have learned through osmosis or simply by watching my family in action, I attribute much of my skill set as a realtor to growing up as an athlete. My mom had her hands full raising two sets of twins, so I actually started organized sports relatively late. I wasn't one of those kids traveling the world with club programs and specializing in one sport at a young age. I just picked up basketball and volleyball in junior high through gym class when teachers and peers simply recruited me to their teams based on my height. I caught up quickly. Being a scholar-athlete became part of my identity.

At Marina High School in Huntington Beach we worked hard in sports. We won the CIF State Championship in volleyball. And, we went the distance in basketball as well before losing a heartbreaker. It was during these years that I learned so many lessons that I utilize today. I thrive in a team environment. I will put my clients interests before my own, like I did my teammates growing up. I will work hard until we achieve the clients' goals, like winning a championship or selling a home higher than the asking price. And, I will outwork the competition to make sure my clients will have every opportunity to find success in the real estate market, like my ultimately earning a basketball scholarship to college.

My degree is technically in the area of human services management because I enjoy the people who I have gotten to know at every turn. Yet, I also have always been drawn to appreciate healthy competition. I, at one time, was a paint sales rep and found myself climbing the ladder by beating incentives and tacking quotas. I transitioned into management of sales in home improvement, decor and furnishings and while others went about their day in a routine sort of way, I was always aware and driven by the goals, the numbers. I wanted to achieve at the highest rate possible.

These experiences have led me to a career in real estate. Each has played an integral role in preparing me for what I believe to be my true calling. I appreciate the detail of homes, the competition in finding the perfect home, and the people with whom I am so fortunate to represent.

For my sellers, I work hard to show their home in the most favorable light to achieve the maximum sales price. For my buyers, my specialty is the ability to focus on my client's needs and desires and to work tirelessly to make them reality. This combined with my in depth knowledge of what is available on the market allows me to help them find the right home or investment property quickly and seamlessly.

Born to humble beginnings in Los Angeles, Rudy Martinez grew to become a successful entrepreneur as a specialist in financing. From a young age, Rudy has set ambitious goals for himself. One of these was joining the United States Armed Forces. Rudy enlisted and proudly served his country from 1986 to 1992.

Rudy first discovered his interest in financing with the establishment of Pacific Alliance Mortgage from 1992 through 2004. In 1994 he founded City Housing Development Inc. (CHD). The goal of CHD is to restore structures that are considered community eye-sores into livable, safe structures that families can call home. Rudy believes it is vital to raise the value of homes in LA’s neighborhoods to improve everyone’s quality of life. Between 2006 and 2012, 51 homes have been rehabilitated. Rudy takes pride in knowing that a family will reap the benefits of having a beautiful and affordable home. The work of CHD Inc. has been featured on The Learning Channel’s, “Flip That House” as seen on the “Rudy” episode. He also stars in his own show on A&E, “Flip This House,” one episode receiving an Emmy nomination in 2009.

After partnering with LA restaurants Cha Cha Cha and Cava, he purchased a dilapidated building in the Eagle Rock community, where he is an active member of the Eagle Rock Chamber of Commerce. The goal was to fulfill his dream of opening his own restaurant sensation that he subsequently named after his daughter Mia. Since its opening, Mia Sushi has been embraced by the community as well as featured in The Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Magazine, and Four Seasons Magazine.

Rudy’s passion for being active within his community inspired him to run for a seat in the Los Angeles City Council in the 2010 – 2011 election. As a resident and small business owner he never imaged that some day he would run for public office: “We are living in extraordinary times; when it is necessary for all of us to stand up and work together to reform our city’s government. I believe that for far too long our city has been more responsive to the demands of special interest rather than the needs of ordinary people” - Rudy Martinez.
In February of 2011 Rudy’s campaign was endorsed by the Los Angeles Times: “…what Martinez could bring is something that today’s council has too little of: representatives who focus on the communities that elect them. That once was the mainstay of Los Angeles city politics, when council members such as John Ferraro, Richard Alatorre and Ruth Galanter understood that the city’s need were paramount but also understood their districts and labored to improve them. Martinez offers a return to that tradition.”

Rudy surprised the community when he replaced a rundown, blighted bar, and opened a contemporary lounge named after his son Marty in 2007. Following the evolving neighborhood of Highland Park, he recently reopened Marty’s as HPK, (Highland Park Kitchen). HPK is an eclectic culinary neighborhood oasis highlighted by The Los Angeles Times, and The LA Weekly. Both periodicals recently highlighted York Boulevard as the “new ground zero of hipster cool,” spotlighting HPK as the outstanding model of renovation and inspiration to other business and residences of Highland Park.

Diana Lam

Diana is Amy’s Transaction Coordinator. She coordinates all the paperwork as soon as an escrow is opened and reviews all contracts and documentation for completeness and accuracy, as well as ensures that all DRE and office requirements are met prior to the close of escrow. Diana has over seven years of experience as the Transaction Coordinator. Diana is a native of the San Gabriel Valley.
